Grimerud history
Grimerud Gård has a long history. It is mentioned in local records from the 16th century, and the oldest part of the main building dates back to around 1819. From 1936 to 1972, Grimerud housed the Eckbo boarding school.
YWAM first became aware of Grimerud when it was looking for a main centre. At that time, God gave a promise based on Judges 18:9-10 concerning a place where people live in safety, a spacious land where nothing would be lacking. Since 1975 Grimerud has been the main centre for YWAM Norway.
We believe that God has given us this place and that it is of strategic spiritual importance. People from all over the world have been blessed and set on fire for missions at Grimerud, and we want this to continue. Together we make up a big family of people from different churches and cultures, who have a variety of interests and ministry emphasizes. Our desire is that the way we live and work together will reflect the commission we have received from the Lord.
